Windows Update No Space issue

This is a known issue from Microsoft and has been reported by several brands. Their updates sometimes get stuck in the middle of the process and take away the little space on the units. I will recommend you to read this guide posted in one the Microsoft support sites:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/wiki/insider_wintp-insider_install/how-to-upgrade-to-windows-10-creators-update-on-a/d7cdba8b-c59b-4a23-86e2-6635a7e44489?auth=1

Also, if you have an extra drive, the best idea is to make it the default one:

https://www.howtogeek.com/245706/how-to-change-the-default-hard-drive-for-saving-documents-and-apps-in-windows-10/

A workaround for the updates would be the follow:

1. Press the Windows key + X on the keyboard, then select Command Prompt(Admin).
2. Type the command line net stop wuauserv, then press Enter.
3. Next, type the second command line net stop bits, then press Enter again.
4. Now, browse to the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder and delete all the files and folders inside.

5. Download the Windows 10 ISO file ( https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209 )
6. Extract the ISO file to a folder on a SD Card or External USB.
7. Point to the setup files, right click setup.exe file then click Run as administrator
8 . Follow the on screen instructions.
9. Select Upgrade this PC and keep the files.
10. Wait while Windows 10 setup installs.

And the ultimate solution is to perform a factory restore to refresh the System and then update it before set up your work environment.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you have further questions or concerns.

Best regards

Quantum byte drops into shell when turned on

I’m trying to help a friend who has a quantum byte that drops into a shell when turned on.

Of most urgent need at the moment is to get files stored on the hard drive that were not backed up.

I can not seem to see any files when in the shell

Please advise on how to find these files and then how to mount a USB drive to copy these files to before rebuilding this computer.

I’m having the same problem with our quantum byte QS-1043-QB. I get a list of devices (blk1: harddisk, etc) and a Shell> prompt. I’m guessing this is an EFI shell prompt. My hunch is that it was caused by a recent Windows update. Is there a button combo that I should use to boot off of Windows restore media?

After reinstalling windows 10 on my Quantum Byte the sound/audio is not working (it says “No audio output device is installed”). I searched on the internet compatible drivers for Quantum Byte cannot find any.

Hello Lumeka,

Thank you for using our forums. Let us provide you a couple of solutions:

Check for the Default Playback device:

If that doesn’t work please install the follow driver:
ftp://ftp.azulletech.com/Software/Drivers/Intel/Intel%20Drivers%20Vizio.zip

Shutdown the display, shutdown the device, disconnect the HDMI. Now turn the display on and plug the HDMI back, wait 10 seconds and boot the device. Refer back to the steps above to verify.

Let us know any progress. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to us directly, via email, or through live chat.

Best regards

Inspire : no HDMI signal

I just bought an Inspire, brand new out of the box. I installed my RAM and added a HDD drive, plugged in the HDMI and power. I turned on my TV, and the Inspire, the button turned blue, but the TV says no signal. I unplugged, powered down, waited 10 secs, etc. Tried again and same result.

Is there something faulty with my device, or do I need VGA?

Autorun clarification for original Quantum Byte

Hello, I’m hoping for some clarification of the Autorun/Poweron functionality for my Quantum Byte computer.

I purchased my Quantum Byte mini-PC several years ago, and the serial # is < 2015085001. I take this to mean that I do not have the jumper switch.

My original BIOS was 1.1. I updated it to 1.3.

I searched but could not find any listing to turn on the auto-poweron capability under the places listed on the forum. This included OS/BOM or Southbridge, though I think the Southbridge was for later models.

However, am I correct in that the computer is now already set to auto-poweron? I did try just plugging in the power, it did auto power on.

If this is all correct, how do I deactivate the auto-power on?

I am having the same issue. We bought 30 of these and none have a windows 10 driver. I downloaded the driver pack from the site and installed, but still not showing up .
